Potluck: Art of (and about) Food, is Rumriver Art Center’s January group gallery show (Jan 10–31) in the Jan Johansen Gallery. Artists were invited to briefly introduce themselves and share one detail about their piece. *Filmed during a short optional window of time—so you’ll see some (but not all!) of the artists in the show.
Artists were prompted to explore any and all aspects of food through their unique creative lens. The artwork ranges from the intimate interior view of one’s kitchen and family dining table to addressing the socio-economic contexts of consumption. This exhibition showcases over thirty artists and a wide array of artistic mediums.
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, Rumriver Art Center is holding a food drive in partnership with HOPE 4 Youth. HOPE 4 Youth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists young adults experiencing homelessness in the Twin Cities Metro area. Gallery visitors are encouraged, but not required to bring a donation.
