Volunteer

Rumriver Art Center depends on volunteers to help in a variety of ways. As a volunteer you are the heart of the art center. We depend on your talents to help us keep the art center running smoothly. We have a variety of opportunities listed below. Click the linked title for more information and to sign up to volunteer.

Show and Shop: We need help staffing the “Show and Shop” on Saturdays in November and December for people who want to purchase locally-made artwork. We are looking for volunteers to help for a 2 and ½ hour time slot to sit in the gallery and greet people when they come in. We greatly appreciate it if you are able to do more! There will be Rumriver Art Center staff available to help customers with any purchases.

Make n’ Take: Come help out folks at our Make-and-Take craft events! It will be a low-key event where people from the community can come together to socialize and make holiday-related crafts. You will be helping anyone who may need a little extra guidance.

Class Assistant: Aid our teaching artists in the art classroom! Some of our classes with younger students, an abundance of students, or special materials, need extra hands. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old, ready for hands-on creating with kids, and have experience with art materials. Some classes are held at Rumriver Art Center and some are held off-site at parks or schools. Volunteer with us and get a taste of the art education life.

Mindless Tasks: Want to help in your community? Using your brain power all day and ready to tune out? Help Rumriver with repetitive tasks that will put you in a flow state. Duties include sharpening pencils, prepping paper by taping to a background, organizing supplies (color coordinating, tidying up), cleaning tools, and more. Sign up once or make it a weekly habit! Slots include 2-hour shifts on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Gallery Host: Rumriver has 2 gallery spaces that change each month with new local artwork! Help guide and answer questions from visitors during the opening gallery events. Check out artists and shows coming up and sign up to volunteer. A great chance to meet artists!
