The current gallery show features the art of Jeanette Offerdahl. She has a variety of acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings, mixed-media artwork, and photography on display. ABOUT
Nature is a constant discovery of colors, sounds and textures that I strive to incorporate into my work. My inspiration
also comes from my travels near and far as well as my treks into nature. I have come to realize as humans we are more
alike than we are different.
My name is Jeanette Offerdahl. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the early age of 12, I would hop a city bus to
visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art (MIA). I was impressed and inspired by the Impressionists. It wouldn’t be until years later that I pursued my passion. I became a member and volunteer at Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts; it felt like home just as the Rum River Art Center does. I work primarily in watercolor and mixed-media, and I have won awards for my work. I also taught at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in their Kid U’s program. My inspiration also comes from my travels to Costa Rica, Mexico, India, and Nepal. Nature inspires me as well.
