Georgia O’Keefe Hibiscus Project

Watercolor painting of a pink flower

Georgia O’Keefe (1887 – 1986) was an American artist. Born near Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Georgia O’Keeffe was a major figure in American art from the 1920s. She received widespread recognition for her technical contributions, as well as for challenging the boundaries of modern American artistic style. She had a long and varied career but is famous for her over sized flower paintings. We are inspired by her over sized flowers in creating our hibiscus project. We use sketching pencils and watercolor pans on paper. The project focuses on color, shape and line to create our hibiscus flower.

Here is some of the amazing Hibiscus flowers that were created during the live zoom class.
