Rumriver Art Center has art on display at Allina’s Customer Experience Center in Coon Rapids, MN (880 Evergreen Blvd, Coon Rapids, MN 55433). The current gallery show features the art of Grace Zimmerman. She has a variety of drawings and acrylic and oil paintings on display. Check out some of her work below!
A little bit about Grace: A few words about Grace: A child of the 60’s, Grace would be the first to tell you that she has never developed a “painting style,” but rather lets her mood, internal influences and family drive subject and overall look and feel of each piece. Grace was, more or less, self-taught, with a smattering of
classes taken through the years to help refine techniques and motivate the artistic spirit.
Portraits are a personal favorite, subjects can be found in family, friends, and just as likely strangers.
Medias tend to lean towards acrylic/oils and pencil/charcoal. Although she does work in acrylics, she
is more drawn to oil as a painting medium; however, pencil drawing has been her first love since she
was a child.
Hardly taking much time to focus on her art during her wage-earning youth, Grace took an early
retirement about 9 years ago and has been able to spend more time and energy on art.
Depending on the week she moves between pencil drawings to traditional painting to help calm and
sooth her soul.
